Gavin Henderson regales us with first hand hilarious stories – providing unique views from the orchestra pit and beyond – of the many conductors with whom he has worked with over the years: Stokowski, Otto Klemperer, Giulini, Svetlanov, Barbirolli, Sargent, and Rattle to name but a few

Gavin’s early introduction to orchestral life was as a lad sitting, mesmerised in the orchestra pit of the Brighton Hippodrome where his trumpet teacher regularly played and his love of the trumpet grew. Gavin’s relish of music and his unique brand of humour is not to be missed.

Afterwards recharge your glasses at the bar and meet Gavin, our Patron of twenty four years, who will be pleased to share more with an informal Q & A
