Long established as one of the UK’s best comics, Jo Brand returns to her stand up roots this winter with brand new material, and Chiddingly Festival is in the firing line. She will be supported by comic Andy Robinson, winner of 2014 Best Act at Midlands Comedy Awards and Best Club Night in the 2015 Midlands Chortle Awards.

During her break from stand-up Jo has written and starred in the BBC series Getting On, for which she won a BAFTA, set on a hospital’s geriatric ward and partly inspired by her earlier career in nursing. She put her cooking to the test on ‘The Great Comic Relief Bake Off’, and was such a success on this show that she became the host of the hugely popular ‘The Great British Bake Off – An Extra Slice’.
She also sat on the judging panel for ITV’s ‘Splash’ and recently presented the ‘Have I Got Election News For You’ show on BBC1 the day after the General Election. Jo’s other television credits include
Jo Brand’s Hot Potatoes (BBC1) plus the award-winning Through the Cakehole (Channel 4). She continues to appear on shows including ‘QI’, ‘Countdown’, ‘Would I Lie To You’, ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’, and ‘The Matt Lucas Awards’.

There are countless more TV appearances to her name but this is the first time she will have had the
challenge of the Chiddingly audience and the intimacy of the venue. Book early!
