COMIC MAKING

Matt Baxter has a secret identity. When he’s not being a graphic designer – at his own design company, Baxter and Bailey – he makes comics. He has written and drawn comic stories for the brilliant children’s weekly The Phoenix Comic (“The best kids’ comic” according to The Guardian) and created Nantastic for the frankly bonkers Moosekid Comics. This year, he has been drawing covers for Titan’s Doctor Who comic. In this workshop, Matt will let you in on his top secret comic-making techniques, including character squishing, speech bubble wrangling and reader riveting.

You don’t need to be a brilliant artist to join in the fun, but you do need a brain full of fizzy ideas. Suitable for ages 6 – 14. Pens, paper and bad jokes provided.
